At Shoreham Village Pre-School we recognise the immense importance that parents attach to choosing the best possible care for their children.  With that in mind, we pride ourselves on providing a happy and secure environment with only the best care and attention for your children.

Following our recent 2025 Ofsted inspection we were delighted to receive the grading of ‘Outstanding’ for the third time in a row for setting and curriculum and are happy to quote the following from our report :

• Staff expertly set up the environment to enable all children to have full access to the exciting and ambitious curriculum. Children swiftly settle into the day. They choose to engage in a variety of attention-grabbing activities, both indoors and outdoors, that cover all areas of learning. Staff take advantage of the natural and sensory resources in the surrounding woods to inspire learning.

• Children behave exceptionally well, supported by skilled staff in developing their social and emotional skills further. Staff approach every interaction skilfully, using their expert knowledge to enhance children's learning. They encourage meaningful conversation through targeted support for each child. Children build secure and safe relationships where they feel confident to ask for help if required.

Each child is assigned a “keyworker” member of staff.  

 

The ratio of staff to children is 1:5 children for 2 years olds and 1:8 children for 3-5 year olds. However, in order to provide a nurtured and intimate setting we only have 16 children on our role call at any one session.
